I have recently made a career change into Web Design and Development, and am excited at what I have learned, and excited to learn more!

Initially, I earned a B.S. in Communications from the University of Utah, mostly pursing it because it was a very general degree and I wasn't sure what career I wanted to pursue. At that time, I knew very little about computer programming, and so it wasn't on my radar.

When I took a long trip abroad through southeast Asia though, I met several people who had been abroad for 6 months +, which I thought was amazing, and I learned they were able to do this because they worked in the computer science field, and could work from anywhere that had WiFi. This is where my interest was seeded.

A few SLCC Web Design and Development courses, and a lot of self-studying later, and I have found that it is something I really enjoy.  It helps sate my curiosity for constant learning, plus I feel a bit of an endorphin rush when I solve a problem.

Outside of web development, my interests include -
watching and playing basketball, playing guitar, staying physically fit, traveling, and watching Jeopardy! (I hope to one day be a winning contestant)

My skills include...

• HTML/CSS • Javascript • React • Git • Wordpress
• JQuery • Bootstrap
• Responsive Design & Mobile First Websites • Photoshop • Adobe XD
• SEO

REACT.JS skills

Inspired by my loves of basketball and problem solving. It randomly grabs a player from an array, then compares a random stat from the player to another random player. The player data is pulled from a CSV that I converted from Basketball-Reference. Although I realize it has no practical value, it was a passion project of mine, and I learned a ton about React and Javascript creating it.
